America's Aquarium in Stone - Fossil Butte National Monument
December 9, 2020
Fossil Butte National Monument, a very small park at the corner of Utah, Idaho and Wyoming. If you are driving up to Yellowstone National Park or Jackson Hole from Salt Lake City, you can try highway 189 instead of interstate 15 and you can reach this park. Also the highway 189 is much better than interstate 15 with less traffic but amazing scenic drive thru the whole Wyoming. Why this park? It can be just a small stop for those beautiful fossils displayed in the visitor center if your kids like store and the natural history. You are not only can see a bunch of underwater animal fossils but also able to touch it on the desk. There are also a few hiking trails you can do with the kids. Be sure to ask the ranger for the junior ranger program and work on the book for the ranger badge and have the official cancellation stamp on your passport.
